Third hand smoke - the sticky brown residue on smokers' walls and furniture - could be even MORE dangerous for children than passive smoking, warn experts
Second-hand smoke reacts with indoor pollutants to create substance
'Noxious residue' sticks to items in the home, including children's toys
When ingested substance sticks to DNA in a way which can lead to cancer
Particularly dangerous for children - who are more vulnerable to its effects as they are small and at a developmental stage
Discovered in research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

Men who smoke regularly before their teens have fatter sons
These men have sons who carry an extra five to 10kg of fat on average
The same does not apply to the sons of men who started smoking later
It suggests boys are particularly sensitive to environment before puberty

Cancer risk for teens who are too girly or too macho - as they're more likely to use sunbeds or smoke, researchers warn

'Girly' females more likely to use sunbeds and less likely to exercise
Boys who want to be seen as more 'manly' more likely to smoke
Study the first to look at link between gender constructs and cancer

How old is your body? New life expectancy calculator reveals how likely a healthy 75-year-old is to outlive someone who drinks and smokes by ten years
Groundbreaking 'health calculator' chart created by scientists at University of Zurich in Switzerland
They studied 17,000 people for health indicators including alcohol intake, smoking, exercise and diet
The study revealed that the unhealthiest 75-year-olds had just a 35% chance of living another decade
The findings also showed a healthy 75-year-old can have a longer life expectancy than an unhealthy 65-year-old
